The original game was not terribly creative nor innovative. The voice used in the game is deep and frightening, which draws players in more, and creates a certain sense of urgency. Every time a piece of the screen is cleared, the dynamic sounds work in concert with the graphics, coercing players to play more, so they can experience it again. My praise for the graphics might have been less if they did not work so well with the audio. Fire and lightning gems just feelvolatile. In addition, the subtle details of certain graphics adds to the game. The more gems that explode, the more beautiful the experience. When you line up three of these gems, you are treated to quite a visual display. The gems themselves are nice looking, though notextravagant. Every rule has an exception, and Bejewled Twist is one of them. I generally subscribe to this line of thinking: Graphics cannot make a game more enjoyable. The strategy has only changed slightly, but it is just enough to keep me interested in playing more, where past Bejeweled games could not. Click here, click there, watch the fireworks. Wether you play the timed mode, or the untimed mode, the game plays almost exactly the same as it always has.

This change, however, is only the first in a series of many improvements.

The change is that you no longer switch two adjacent jewels, you now rotate four adjacent jewels in a clockwise motion. The idea of the game remains the same line up three or more similar jewels in a row to eliminate them, and score points. Bejeweled Twist, by Popcap games has swayed my thinking. I have never been a fan of the Bejeweled games.
